Hello future engineers, During the current semester, we will focus more on your participation and on your continuous assessment performance online. I mean real participation! My aim is to urge you boost your performance in English. During our weekly sessions, you will be asked to complete assignments on Moodle platform. These activities will be time limited to be taken during the prescribed timing. That is, if you miss it, it will not open again. I would rather call these activities ‘Informal Assessment Lessons’ rather than ‘Tests’ because you will have the possibility to consult dictionaries, references or even work in pairs or in small groups. The thing is to make everyone sit, concentrate, work and perform and see his or her feedback on the spot. When you are done you submit your work individually. The tasks will vary from listening, reading or grammar oriented exercises and mainly of general or business English category, and of intermediate level. At the end of the session, you will receive immediate feedback, the correction of your work and the assigned marks, which is a kind of ‘informal continuous assessment’. By the end of the semester you will have completed a quite good number of activities by which every student will have formed an individual portfolio file of his/her works.You are advised to take them seriously because the more engaged you are in these assignments, the better chances you will have to get a good mark at the end of the semester. These accomplished tasks will be counted in your overall final assessment. Good Luck.
